The Breakfast Club
After spending much of last year DJing and getting outrageously drunk (not necessarily in that order), many people have expressed their concern and distress about the lack of Breakfastaz material being released into the atmosphere and have been questioning our whereabouts and work ethic in equal measure. Well, for those of you out there who have been wondering what we’ve been up to, here’s the lowdown…we’ve started our own label.Throughout 2007 and beyond you can expect to hear a series of what we’d consider our strongest releases, as well as a selection of some of the finest remixes money never bought. Initially we’re going to concentrate on releasing our own material, but if you’ve got a killer track, our ears are always open…
Our debut release is going to be double A-side; “Sickness” & “The Cheech”…two tracks that offer something for all the family and are a serious statement of intent. “Sickness” combines a tear-out bass line, twisted synth parts and a diva-esque vocal courtesy of Wray, leaving dancefloors distressed and eardrums perforated. On the flip, “The Cheech” sounds like what you’d hear if you fell asleep in Fabric and had the weirdest nightmare of your life…and let’s face it, plenty of you probably have! A monster bassline, creepy, eerie stabs and a Vincent Price style narrative that will make you want to dance and shit your pants in equal measure. Already being bashed by the likes of Annie Mac, Eddy Temple-Morris and numerous other tastemaker DJs, we reckon you’re gonna love ‘em.
After that we’ve got collaborations featuring MC Ivory and Meshach Broderick, who co-wrote “The Pressure” with us, plus remixes from none other than Krafty Kuts, Deekline & Wizard, Devil’s Gun and Control Z. “Big tings a gwaan” as they say pon road!
Cheers for the continued support.
