Well known for his love for analogue instruments. Better known for his powerful DJ sets and live performances. Best known for his talent as a producer/engineer. Catscan (Bart Kok, 26) is a leading force in the Dutch dancescene. The explanation is simple: Catscan produces music in the most vibrant way you can imagine. He flirts with techno, hardhouse, even classical and filmmusic, but never abandons his own typical style. A style that is best described as intelligent and soulful.

At the age of seventeen, Catscan started to produce. His first release WOIII (ID&T) became an instant clubhit and the road to a special Catscan recordlabel was paved. The Catscan Ltd. label got it’s kick off at independent recordcompany The Third Movement. Discographical higlights like Capture in Distress (Catscan Ltd. 1) and The World is Mine (Catscan Ltd. 4) saw the daylight during this period.

When Catscan moved to ProArtistManagement in 2004, he took the Catscan Ltd. label with him. The eighth release on the label, My Defragmentated Head, was joined by a freaky videoclip, wich was broadcasted several times all over the country.
Catscan just finished of a promotional tour for My Deframentated Head, the album. The Catscan Album Release Tour brought Bart and his closest DJ-mates to various sold out clubs in Holland and Germany. The live appearances from Catscan and Dj Deimos made every tourdate special, because Catscan uses the loose components of a track to build a new remix live on stage.

Bart produces tracks for every Thunderdome-, Hardcore to da bone-, Nightmare- and Masters of Hardcore compilation. He compiled an in- and outtro for dj Dana’s album ID&T presents DJ Dana. As Base Alert (with DJ Outblast) he produced floorfillers as Zoo and Oooiijee Oink. He has just finished a remix of Flight by Wire, for Alkanine 3Db aka Dave Clarke. As producer/engineer he is also active in coaching other talent, like Korsakoff, Sidephex, Deimos and Frantic Genetix.

DJ Catscan performed at several major gigs, such as Thunderdome, Mysteryland, the Hannover Street parade, the Zürich Street parade and together with the Prodigy in Club Starlight (Italy). Especially in France, Germany and England DJ’s, audience and critics respect him for his unconventional and experimental pureness. That’s why Catscan showed his DJ skills in places like the legendary Club Tresor (Berlin) and the famous Nature One festival (Germany).
